New Year's Eve

Various musings about life-at-home between Christmas and New Years.

Between Christmas and New Years

  • I have read through quite a few interesting articles in my slashdot email. And, I have remove quite a few old slashdot email entries with a few entered onto my delicious site.
  • It was generally sad but not unexpected news to hear the Islamic extremist bastards killed Benazir in Pakistan a couple of days ago. (And, the liberals want to get out of Iraq!).
  • Karl is spending a second night at the Wiley's. 2 days in a row outside of his room!
  • I completely Cyclone Raked the yard front and back. And, it only required 1.5 bags. It should have been more but the collector at the deck discharge was clogged-up!
  • I saw the new neighbors today. The old man looks like Mike Ditka from a distance. His son looks like a nice kid.

Christmas 2007 Day 2

Various around the house

  • Started raking again today to run the Cyclone Rake the last time this year.
  • I had to stop raking to fetch Dean from work as he was not scheduled until Monday.
  • I worked out today for about 1 hour. Mostly abdominals and aerobics.
  • Helen studied her Chilihead material for her last test.
  • I was somewhat successful today using the JMETER as a monitor for both davidwbrown.name/jboss and hedwig/tomcat.

Dean saga

Christmas shopping

  • I took Dean shopping at the Woodland's Mall to use his Christmas gift card.
  • We got along OK except for one time when Dean got somewhat belligerent.
  • Dean blew some of his money on fast-food at the Mall.
  • We went into the Mall and it was warm outside only to be surprised by the cold air that greeted us when we exited the Mall to head  home.
