Sentigy/Chevron TC Assessment Final Analysis
Final Analysis
- I met with TF and RB and TF red inked the places in the TC Assessment document that needed change and clarification.
- I edited the assessment document as instructed and it was given back to TF. TF claimed he did not understand much of the document but it was up to PC CBRES to make a decision on going forward with my recommendations as laid down in the assessment.
- I worked 6 hours.
Sentigy/Chevron TC assessment project post presentation
Post presentation deliverable
- Today was another down day @ Sentigy.
- I did not even see T.F. I only talked to R.B. and he was not very talkative
- In all-likelihood I will not be continuing with the CBRES project anytime soon.
- As a hopeful footnote: I had a very good interview with Malcolm Davis for the BCBS project in Jackson.
- It appears I have already published somthing similar on this day but: Oh Well!
Happy Birthday! et. al.
57 ain't bad
- I will discuss business in a separate publication.
- I had a very nice B-day! Mom cooked a very much the delicious rib din-din with baked spuds and salad and corn-on-the-cob! Wow!
- The B-Day cards were great from both the Guyz and Mumzy!
- And the best of all were the presies: a new alarm clock and a real chair to sit in while I work at my computer!
Sentigy/Chevron TC assessment project
TF was not able to see me today.
- I went into Sentigy today but I never plugged in my computer.
- TF was interviewing somebody for Chevron today and he never even talked to me.
- I went to ecs.quickarrow.com and I saw where TF had approved all of the previously unapproved hours totaling about 104 hours. The approval process prevented me from putting in my 2 hours for today.
- On all fronts it appears that I Chevron is not going forward with anymore work to be done with the finding from the Tomcat Assessment.
- As a consequence of the above bullet I interviewed with Sapphire Tech and I talked with a very nice gal about a very not nice company called: Questia.com.

Added PC email to assessment document
- Today at Sentigy was not a good day.
- I spent fours editing the so-called Paul Cali email such that I could include the email as a laundry list of things that CBRES would need to do such that I could control the performance testing and monitoring environment designed to re-engineer the network topology and the servers and servlet containers installed on the hardware.
- In all-likelihood it appears theCBRES management has put the thumbsdown to the proposal presented to Paul Cali and Friday, 25, 2008.
- Somewhere I remember reading about cheesy recruiters and consultancies such as the ones I have worked for in recent years.
- Recent times remind me of times past.
- Hours worked: 4.
Sentigy/Chevron TC Assessment Deliverable
The Deliverable
- Friday was a high and a low.
- TF and I went to CBRES and delivered the TC assessment doco worked on for most of the week concluded.
- The assessment presentation was received quite well IMHO. TF and I left with a 99% complete document to be revised once I got back to 3 riverway.
- Back at 3 Riverway I worked on the document for the rest of the day but I found that it was difficult to concentrate because it became more-and-more evident over the course of the day that all-was-not-well @ Sentigy.
- By the end of the day it was clear that Sentigy may not persist into next week. TF gave me instructions not to come to work until Monday the 28th. I suspect he means to allow me to look for another job and at the same time it will allow CB and TF to assay their options.
Dean and another drug incident
Dean got high and lost his job
I should have known something was wrong.

Tomcat OAA login and Bear River monitors completed
- Emails was sent to M. Wilson with a laundry list of items I would liketo see implemented by Monday, 21-Jan-08. This email was answered by R.Roller with an inventation to discuss the issues and requirements I have outlined in emails to the San Ramon guys.
- I was successful in performing a 3 user 2 login concurrent test against the get-it-dev.chevron.com application (OAA) using the Jmeter tool.
- I was successful in creating a Tomcat Server Status Monitor against the Star Receiver app @: mailtracking-dev.chevron.com. While under monitoring I navigated to the mail tracking and open a so-called "ship internal" package distribution with package lable that was subsequently printed several times to put some load on the server. Please find attached the screen shots of the the so-called: "Server Health" and the "Server Performance Graphs".
- Hours worked: 8.0.

Proxy Recording working at get-it-dev
- I studied Connect-IT a Java AWT/Swing app that interfaces to ServcieCenter and it appears that oaa (get-it-dev) is configurable (programmable) from this application.
- Initially I was not able to run http://get-it-dev.chevron.com but with the help of: Mike Wilson, Brian McElderry and Gary Kinsman I was able to invoke the URL
- Gary claims there are many folks that cannot get into the application on the first try. Gary was not aware of the TC assessment.
- Called Brian and he introduced me to the archway.log. I could both his and mine logins to get-it-dev.
- I found a VB script that appears to be used for monitoring (memory) of the Tomcat applications.
- At the end of the day I was able to run the Proxy Recording Test Plan under JMeter.
- Talking to Brian it appears I will need to talk to M. Wilson to migrate TC to 5.x.
- S. Stuart is a MacWorld and so if I want to do some monitoring I will have to do so using Start Receiver or DSIS.
- Hours worked: 8.0.

Tomcat assessment final assessment sentigy doco
- Worked most of the day trying to get the Jasper/Jboss portal working but I must work-out the hsqldb issues. Initially, I started with mysqdb but the RDBMS stops running for no apparent reason.
- I have reviewed most of the Application Technology Assessment draft doco and it appears that I can use this as-is with my contributions.
- I worked 6 hours today.

Tomcat assessment final assessment proposal ongoing
- I worked at Sentigy today and did not go into Chevron.
- I spoke briefly with Tom and Jason this morning and here are some of their points:
- They mentioned automating the Evaluation and Assessment Documents (Reporting). I worked on this over the weekend and I came up with the Jasper reporting on the same named JBoss portal.
- TF and J showed me an example document and a fleshed out document representing the Sentigy Pathways style of project documention deliverables. I worked on this the rest of the day.
- I worked about 6.5 hours today.

Tomcat assessment final assessment proposal ongoing
- Paul met with TF yesterday and prophesied future changes to the current proposal. I have notes on all of this TBJ when I ever get time away from working on my machines at home.
- I discovered the http://get-it-dev.chevron.com works better with a dash and not a (dot).
- Called Steve Stuart and we discussed at lengh the issues surrounding access to the get-it-dev environment. SS basically dispelled any thoughts of a so-called sandbox. SS was able to help me resolve the JMeter proxy issue with I.E. and the PROXY LAN setting.

Tomcat assessment final assessment proposal
- Today I got a laptop and logged in with my Chevron email account.
- Consequently, I was able to put today a Word doc laundry list much expanded over the email sent to Tom from HPL yesterday. I BCC'd myself when I sent the doc to Tom.
- The main points were in agreement with Steven Stuart to create a completely new environment sandbox to conduct tests on the TC applications beginning with GET-IT (oaa.war).
- The next several days are blank because the wip box HDD finally went out and I rebuilt the entire system to Debian. And, of course, all the Webmin work too slowed the return of WIP to the public.

- This will remain in Draft mode for most of the day until I get something to write other than work I am doing on the Sentigy/Chevron gig.
